MBA, Black Church Initiative, Fannie Mae to Unveil Foreclosure Guide

The Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Black Church Initiative and Fannie Mae will release a Foreclosure Prevention Guide today, Feb. 5.
The National Black Church Initiative and 13 historic African American denominations have come together with the mortgage lending industry to create this guide to assist families while they are going through foreclosure and to help others avoid it altogether. The guide will be distributed to churches nationwide.

A press conference to announce the initiative will take place at 10:00 a.m. ET at Asbury United Methodist Church in Washington. Among those participating:

• Del. Eleanor Holmes-Norton, D-D.C.
• Rep. Joe Baca, D-Calif., chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus
• Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty (D)
• Prince George’s County (Md.) Executive Jack Johnson (D)
• Alexandria, Va., Mayor William Euille (D)
• The Rev. Anthony Evans, president of the National Black Church Initiative
• Erick Gustafson, MBA senior vice president of government affairs
• Charmaine Brown, senior business manager with Fannie Mae.
