MBA Government Housing/Loan Production Conference Underway

The Mortgage Bankers Association’s Government Housing and Loan Production Conference is underway in Washington, D.C., running through tomorrow.
Featured speakers at this morning's Opening General Session include FHA Commissioner Brian Montgomery; Ginnie Mae Executive Vice President Michael Frenz, CMB; Joaquin Tremois, acting director of the USDA Rural Development single-family housing guaranteed loan division; and Judith Caden of the VA’s loan guaranty service.

MBA Vice President of Research and Economics Jay Brinkmann will provide an updated economic forecast this afternoon.

Concurrent sessions today will examine New Approaches to Creative Underwriting; Emerging Trends in State Housing Finance Authorities; and updates on Reverse Lending; Special Products; Mortgage Technology; and VA’s Loan Guarantee Program.

The Second General Session on Friday features representatives of HUD’s Homeownership Centers. Concurrent sessions include updates on Appraisal and Collateral Issues and FHA Credit Policy and Underwriting.
