CampusMBA, the Mortgage Bankers Association's education component, has created a "boot camp-style workshop" to help lenders and servicers handle loss mitigation. The training program originally was created for Republic Mortgage Insurance Co.'s front-line servicing staff. Topics covered by the course include loss mitigation requirements for investors and insurers, reasons why borrowers default, workout options and such "hands-on exercises" as developing a workout plan.
