Stricter underwriting standards are making it harder for more Americans to obtain financing now than before the mortgage crisis. A recent survey by Deloitte reveals that close to 70 percent of respondents are having difficulty securing mortgages, 65 percent are having a tough time getting home equity lines of credit and 62 percent are finding it hard to obtain personal loans.
